SF Bay Area Women in Rock - From Psych to Punk

Rock historian Richie Unterberger will show and discuss film clips of Bay Area women rock and soul performers from the 1960s and 1970s. Included will be footage, not seen in previous lectures, of performers such as Grace Slick, Janis Joplin, We Five, Mimi Fariña, Lydia Pense with Cold Blood, the Ace of Cups, Mother Earth, It’s a Beautiful Day, the Pointer Sisters, the Tubes, and the Avengers. Unterberger is the author of numerous rock history books, including Unknown Legends of Rock'n'Roll; White Light/White Heat: The Velvet Underground Day-By-Day; and a history of 1960s folk-rock, Jingle Jangle Morning.
